This piece encompasses quite a few aspects which inspire me in my creative endeavors.  The drawing is in graphite, a medium in which I first became most familiar. The film, released during Hollywood's Golden Era, and adapted from the book by the same title, presents a snapshot of the United State's southern boarder with every-day people and every-day life.  I found it wholesome, and the above drawing captures one of those moments.
